At the undergraduate level, the Department lays emphasis on Software Engineering, Data & Information Systems Engineering, as well as on Network Technologies. The Department provides exposure to emerging technologies as well as futuristic technologies like Quantum Computing. The research thrust of the department is in the engineering of Software Systems, Data/Knowledge based Systems like Data Warehousing Systems, Information Systems and Networking. Fully equipped ultra modern laboratories and a wide range of projects supplement the knowledge centre of the college.
The department acts as a source of change-facilitators who serve to complement the existing & emerging educational programs of our institution by imparting professional and behavioral competencies & thereby transforming our students to become the New-age, Innovating, Competitive and Enterprising leaders in their chosen professions of service and technology. This department serves as a ‘centre of excellence’ dedicated to the dissemination of professional and behavioral knowledge pertaining to Communication skills, Interpersonal skills and Managerial skills among our students so that they can develop an overall personality and ability to interact with different organs of the organization.
The teaching of the Department is based on a comprehensive social science approach that integrates and interrogates economic, political, geographical and cultural dimensions. It encourages a comprehensive study of the field of politics, economics and geography keeping especially the Indian reality in focus. The Department has also insisted on learning of western thought and institutions as well. Our general focus has been supplemented by a growing emphasis on the need to combine theory with practical aspects of the area of study. The Department of Science focuses on pure, applied and applicable areas of Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. A student of science with good analytical skills and logical reasoning can excel in any walk of life. The curriculum has been designed with emphasis on the application of concepts. The core objectives of the department are to impart students with logical thinking, analytical reasoning and problem solving skills; to equip them with more technological skills and scientific computing techniques based on mathematical methods to meet the growing demand in the industrial, marketing and communication sectors; to widen their horizon of knowledge.
